The Unique Property Market in Brighton and Hove
With a population of just under 300,000 Brighton and Hove is the UK's most desirable 'city by the sea'. Bordered by the English Channel on one side and the South Downs National Park on the other, it's no wonder so many people choose to make it their home.
As an established estate agent in the city for more than twenty five years we know all about the local market and what makes it so unique. One of the main factors is the way in which different locations within the city offer completely different lifestyles although they are all relatively close to each other.
It all comes together to work successfully in a way that few other places in the UK can match.
City Centre Living
Some people want to be in the heart of the action and there's plenty to be had in a vibrant and diverse city such as ours.
The city centre district includes famous locations including
The Lanes, found between East Street, Ship Street and North Street, and the
North Laine, the hub of independent restaurants, pubs, cafés, shops and outdoor
markets situated just down from the mainline railway station.
What marks these areas out from similar city centres
elsewhere is that they also offer a wide range of different types of
accommodation too. From compact classic period terraces to contemporary hi-tec
apartments in the New England Quarter, there are plenty of ways to live right
in the heart of the action.
Semi-Suburban Life
As you come out of the centre, even though it's just a mile or so inland you find a different feel and way of doing things.
Seven Dials is perhaps no less vibrant than the North Laine,
but there are fewer visitors and a much more 'local' feel. In some ways it has
more in common with London's Primrose Hill than Notting Hill, with local
community based pubs like The Chimney House tucked away in the pretty back
streets.
Banding this area of the city you'll find the parks - Hove
Park, Hove Rec, Dyke Road Park, Preston Park, Blakers Park - each offering
their own take on community-based open spaces that supplement the semi-suburban
feel.
Fiveways and Port Hall are either side of the main railway
line that bisects the city, but they offer a stunning range of period homes of
various shapes and sizes.
The Suburbs
Going farther out along London Road or Dyke Road brings another turn of lifestyle that is distinctly suburban. Larger properties, bigger gardens, more open spaces and an altogether quieter feeling permeate Westdene, Patcham and Surrenden areas.
Further to the East, Woodingdean even brings real semi-rural
aspects into play, with homes that back right onto the open spaces of the Downlands.
The remarkable thing about all of this is that this whole
spectrum exists within a three or four mile distance to the seafront itself!
City-Wide and Local
With such a wealth of different homes in a relatively small city footprint it explains how we came to be a city-wide estate agency which is based on local knowledge and experience.
From our central hub on one of the city's main thoroughfares
we help people sell, let, buy and rent homes in each of the distinctly
different locations around Brighton and Hove.
Using a marketing mix that brings together essential online
opportunities together with 'on the ground' traditional estate agent
techniques, we offer the best of all worlds, just like our city!
